Healthy Ways to Fall Asleep Easily at Night
For some people, to sleep at night is already hard for them. But social media and technology have made it harder for everyone to sleep normally without having to stare at a screen for minutes or hours. How many times you find yourself in that situation where you could not sleep so you grab your phone and explore Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube until your eyes start to get tired and you finally want to take a rest.
Change that today, and try out new healthy ways that can help you fall asleep easier at night. The goal is to hopefully condition your body so it can get used to falling asleep without any stimulation just like when we were babies and kids where they were no screens to entertain us in bed.
Stretch before You Sleep
The key to your body, so it wants to shut down, is not just to get tired because you should not do that every day. A simple ten to fifteen minutes of stretching can easily relax every bit of your muscle so it knows that you want to rest. Just like how people fall asleep during meditation after yoga, the longer you do the stretching and the more proper your movement, the deeper you will go into the subconscious.
Take a Warm Shower or Bath
When your body feels warm, it would want to turn off and go to sleep. Since working out and hitting the gym every night before sleep is not a great idea, you can jump in the hot shower or bath just to get warm and cozy. The heat from the temperature will also relax your muscle just like stretching would. Just keep in mind that this is not something that you should do every night as well. Letting the water runs every night just to help you fall asleep does not seem like a good excuse to waste it and harm the environment.
Put Lavender Oil on
The scent of lavender oil scientifically proven have made people feel sleepy. You can buy one online and test it out for yourself if it can make any difference. Rub a little bit on your wrist and on your chin or anywhere that makes it easy for your nose to pick up on the scent. You can also combine the previous ways like stretching or a warm bath with this so hopefully, you will not even think about grabbing that phone to have something to look at because you hardly cannot wait to sleep.
